Compact 1U form factor ideal for space-constrained branch offices requiring managed Layer 3 switching with redundancy.
Multi-switch stacking topology (up to 8 units, 40 Gbps bandwidth) for distributed access layer with centralized management.
The CX 6200F 48G delivers 176 Gbps non-blocking switching capacity with 130.9 Mpps throughput. Latency is 2.28 microseconds at 1 Gbps and 1.46 microseconds at 10 Gbps. This non-blocking architecture ensures wire-speed forwarding across all 48 ports simultaneously, eliminating bottlenecks in access layer deployments.
The S0M83-61001 provides 370W total PoE budget with 30W per port (Class 4 IEEE 802.3at). This supports approximately 12 concurrent powered devices at maximum wattage, or more devices if they consume less than 30W each. Ideal for mixed IoT, wireless AP, and IP camera environments.
Up to 8 switches can be stacked together with 40 Gbps stacking bandwidth and maximum stacking distance of 10 kilometers. Stacking provides centralized management, simplified configuration, and resilient topology options (chain or ring). Enables seamless scaling without additional management overhead.
The switch supports OSPF v2/v3, RIP-2, IGMP v2/v3, MLD v2, and VRRP for redundancy. IPv4 and IPv6 routing with 2,048 unicast routes and 1,024 IPv6 routes. Comprehensive ACL support: 5,120 IPv4 ingress, 1,280 IPv6 ingress, 2,048 IPv4 egress, 512 IPv6 egress entries.
Security features include Trusted Platform Module (TPM), SSH v2 authentication, RADIUS/TACACS+ support, FIPS 140-2 encryption, and comprehensive ACL enforcement. SNMP v2c/v3 for monitoring, LLDP for device discovery, and UDLD for link integrity detection.
The CX 6200F 48G is optimized for enterprise access layer, not data center spine/core. With 176 Gbps capacity and Gigabit ports, it's designed for campus and branch access. For data center, HPE offers higher-capacity CX 8320/8325 series with 2.5 Tbps+ capacity and 10/25/40/100 GbE ports.
Dual management: RJ-45 console port and USB-C console. Management protocols include CLI, SNMP v2c/v3, RMON, and standard MIB support. ARM Cortex-A72 processor at 1.8 GHz with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and 16 GB flash for configuration storage and firmware updates.
