Product certification ensures that a particular product has successfully passed rigorous performance and quality assurance tests and meets the requirements stated in agreements, rules, or specifications, which are frequently referred to as "certification schemes" in the product certification sector.
Products available on US IT Hardware may follow manufacturer offered certifications as listed below:
ENERGY STAR
This international standard for energy-efficient products started in the USA in 1992 through a joint effort by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. Adopted by several countries, products with the ENERGY STAR label typically consume 20-30% less energy compared to the federal standards. This standard aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants caused by inefficient energy use, ensuring both cost savings and environmental safety.
RoHS
Short for "Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive," RoHS began in the European Union in 2003. The directive mandates the restriction of specific hazardous materials in electronic and electrical devices. VCCI

UL Certification

CSA Certification
