Frequently asked questions
What is the total switching capacity and throughput of the JL664-61101?
The Aruba 6300M delivers 448Gbps non-blocking switching capacity with 334 Mpps throughput, supporting wire-speed forwarding across all 24 ports simultaneously. Latency is exceptionally low: 2.28μs at 1Gbps, 1.46μs at 10Gbps, 1.9μs at 25Gbps, and 3.49μs at 50Gbps, making it ideal for latency-sensitive data center and financial trading environments.
How much PoE power does the JL664-61101 provide?
The switch provides up to 1440W total PoE power budget across its 24 ports, delivering up to 30W per port (IEEE 802.3at Class 4). This supports high-power devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, PTZ cameras, and industrial IoT endpoints without requiring separate power injectors.
What uplink options are available on the 6300M?
Four SFP56 ports provide flexible uplink connectivity supporting 1G/10G/25G/50G speeds. These can be used for stacking (200Gbps stacking bandwidth via VSF), spine layer connectivity, or long-distance links. SFP56 transceivers are sold separately and support various fiber and DAC options.
Does the JL664-61101 support VXLAN and overlay networking?
Yes, the 6300M supports VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN) for overlay networking, enabling multi-tenant cloud and data center architectures. It also supports VLAN tagging, MVRP, and advanced routing protocols (BGP-4, OSPF v2/v3, ECMP) for flexible network design and traffic engineering.
What security and access control features are included?
The switch includes IEEE 802.1x port-based authentication, DHCP snooping, IGMP snooping, comprehensive ACLs (5000 IPv4 ingress, 2000 IPv4 egress entries), MAC ACLs, and storm protection (broadcast, multicast, unicast). It supports SNMP v2c/v3, syslog, and NTP for centralized monitoring and management.
Can multiple 6300M switches be stacked together?
Yes, up to 8 Aruba 6300M switches can be stacked using Aruba Virtual Switching Framework (VSF) via the SFP56 uplink ports, creating a single logical switch with 200Gbps stacking bandwidth. This simplifies management, improves redundancy, and enables seamless failover without manual reconfiguration.
What are the processor and memory specifications?
The 6300M features a Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A72 processor running at 1.8GHz, 8GB DDR4 SDRAM, and 32GB eMMC flash storage. It supports 1000 Switched Virtual Interfaces (SVIs), 32,000 IPv4 host entries, 64,000 IPv4 unicast routes, and 8000 IGMP groups for large-scale network deployments.
